Rainbow Hand-Painted Vintage Mexican Bench | Artisans in Mexico

This striking bench is decorated in the original paint: Each year in Mexico people re-paint their furniture with a new coat of paint.  Over the years layers and layers of paint are added.  When this furniture is found by Deb, and when it is sanded down each layer is revealed.

This technique gives the bench a melted crayon-like effect.  Each layer reveals more and more color and texture and reminds us of the immense rich history connected to this piece!
